Does Axiom Forge change Excel itself?
No. Every shortcut runs a command Excel already has, through its menus or its scripting. Setup asks before adding anything to Excel: a small add-in for a few commands, and the Tracer’s button on the Home tab.
What will macOS ask me to allow?
A few things, and setup explains each one first. Accessibility, so Axiom Forge sees the ⌥ key while Excel is in front. Control of Excel, to run your shortcuts; it never sends or saves what is in your workbooks. Excel’s add-in folder, for the add-in. The first time it opens, choose Open; when you sign in, choose Continue.
How much does Axiom Forge cost?
Nothing during the beta. If that changes, the app tells you first, with the date. Friends you invite get an extra free month when paid plans begin.
Can I use a key other than Left-Option?
Yes: Right-Option or Right-Command, in setup or Settings. Option still types accents and runs Excel’s own shortcuts, because the panel opens only when you press the key on its own.
Does Axiom Forge cover Ctrl shortcuts?
No, and it doesn’t need to: Excel for Mac runs them with ⌘. Axiom Forge adds what Mac Excel never had, the Alt sequences that walk the ribbon, such as ⌥ H V V for Paste Values.
Why do I need to sign in?
So every error report comes from a real install and can be fixed. You sign in once, with Google or Microsoft. After that, Axiom Forge works offline for 30 days at a time.
Does Axiom Forge record what’s in my spreadsheets?
No. It counts which shortcuts you use, how fast, and whether they worked, and how often the Tracer runs. It never records cell contents, formulas, or file and sheet names. The privacy page lists what is kept, and where.
Do I download the Tracer separately?
No. One download installs both tools. Setup adds the Tracer to Excel’s Home tab, and ⌘⇧E opens it on any cell.
